About Me

Photography dawned on me two decades ago. I had joined a graduate program in fine arts where I spent the early years painting and sketching until I realized my real draw was the camera.

Partly by design and partly by accident, I ventured into industrial and product photography where I found my guru in Kochhar A - a top industrial photographer in Delhi. Thus began my adventurous journey of photojournalism.

Photography to me is not just a profession. It is an opportunity to frame my inspiration. I still remember vividly the day when I was first assigned to Photograph the legendary and enigmatic industrialist Ratan Tata, chairman of The Tata Group, in 1998.

Over the years, I have added India's top industrialists, businessmen and executives - Kumar Mangalam Birla, Mukesh Ambani, K.V. Kamath, Adi Godrej, Deepak Parekh, N.R. Narayana Murthy, Nandan Nilekani - to my portfolio.

Now, after a decade and a half as a professional photographer, I am having my second solo exhibition. This exhibition is a collection of images from different festivals and places of India that appear to me to represent India's varied cultural heritage at its glorious best. I plan to continue my forays into India's rich cultural landscape and come up with more such images for my next series.

My first solo exhibition was on the Maha Kumbh Mela 2010, a religious event, which occurs once in 12 years and brings such a congregation of people - devotees and onlookers alike - that the whole world marvels at it.
